The landscape surrounding the road to Genepreto is colored in every tone of green, from the vineyards to the woods to the fields. An even more aulic dimension when one enters the small village renowned for the quality of its cuisine. No surprise that two De.co. recepies (a town denomination created by Gino Veronelli to value the extraordinary italian gastronomic patrimony) roast coppa of Genepreto and nettle tortelli.
Absolute master in the preparation of these two dishes is Valeria Genesi, chef and owner with her husband Fabio Buzzi of the Osteria della Piazzetta in the center of Genepreto.
For over twenty years this family management guarantees quality and has been awarded with the constant positive response of the clientele. The restaurant is a typical country osteria: a small dehor at the entrance, the bar a towns people gathering point, the dining room seats forty , no more so as to fully care for clients.
Valeria’s cuisine is based on the classic piacenza menu: nettle tortelli, that boast the De.Co. recepie, Pisarei e fasò, butter and sage tortelli, anolini in broth – second courses which include roast Genepreto coppa, picula ad caval (minced stewed horse meat) and seasonal game.
Prices are in line with a good quality country trattoria.
