Pace Restaurant

Pisarei e fasòATTENTION: THIS RESTAURANT HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE 2017

The prize for the best pisarei no doubt goes to Pace Restaurant in Caminata, managed for over 20 years by Cesarina and Fausto Daturi. But they deserve another well-earned prize for the extraordinary price/quality ratio. At first sight it may even seem negative. Starters 5 Euro, Pasta 6 Euro, second courses 7 Euro, dessert 2.5 Euro, Piacenza wines 7.5 Euro. Table and bread 1.5 Euro

Generous portions of bread make it acceptable.

Prices have been the same even before the Euro thanks to the choice the brother and sister made from the start – family management, home made, reduced costs without giving up an intangible quality. Hospitality that you feel the moment you enter and are welcomed by Faust’s cordial warm smile. The quality of the dishes is exemplary. They are presented well, there is a knowledgable use of ingredients, and a culinary patrimony which should never go lost is safeguarded. Cesarina does not give up experiments , but before a dish is put on the menu, as is the case of tortelli with taleggio and nettle, she tries and tries again until the mix of flavours is perfect.

Fausto makes the desserts and home made liquors obtained with traditional herbs and fruits like a fig liquor invented because of a super production of their fig tree.

Aside from the dishes described, worthy of mention are : Gutturnio cheek lard, braised tongue, pickled veal scaloppine, tripe a la piacentina (booking required). The restaurant seats 70 and 30 outdoors. Really worth a visit.
